Un patrimonio inestimabile, dopo aver ascoltato una miriade di artisti, in singolo o in gruppo, alla fine per ricevere un feedback emotivo dall'ascolto di un album (come si diceva una volta) devo ricorrere sempre a Loro. A giorni dovrei riuscire a rimediare il DVD del concerto tenutosi in occasione della caduta del Muro. Sono in attesa febbrile!

Il pezzo di chitarra finale di Gilmour è qualcosa di autenticamente pazzesco.. uno dei più belli in assoluto.

L'assolo più lungo per questa Opera immortale è contenuto nella versione live del 1995 (Pulse), con ben 9'29'' di durata complessiva del brano contro gli 8'57'' di Delicate Sound Of Thunder, risalente ormai al 1988. In quest'ultima versione dal vivo Gilmour è più preciso e "pulito" nell'esecuzione, ma l'assolo della performance del '95 è quello che preferisco in assoluto, molto più struggente e, probabilmente, suonato con passione diversa.
Continuando a parlare di durata del brano, solo per dovere di cronaca, aggiungo che la versione da studio (1979: The Wall) è di 6'22''.
